Walking the King’s Path Through the Forest
The Levada do Rei walk begins in São Jorge and leads you deep into one of Madeira’s most untouched forest areas. Following the flow of the levada, the trail winds through dense Laurissilva forest, rich in endemic plants and birdsong, with occasional open views over the São Jorge valley.
As the path narrows and the vegetation thickens, you’ll feel fully immersed in nature. The walk ends at a secluded waterfall, a quiet spot that rewards your journey through this hidden green corridor.
